THE ROOTS OF ALL GOODNESS LIE IN THE SOIL OF APPRECIATION FOR GOODNESS
- DALAI LAMA
Livelihood Program
Nanze's current focus remains on education and water initiatives, but have included past livestock projects.
LIVESTOCK
In 2014, with the help of Malawian volunteer Wilifordi James, Nanze began work on its livelihood program. Wilifordi offered the use of his land for a pig-pen.
This changed in 2017 when Nanze decided the best way to empower the community is by providing them with communal livestock that they can self raise. Nanze now donates chickens to the women of the community which they can raise for eggs and food. Goats are also provided to help create a self- sustaining community.
CROPS
Nanze has assisted the community in leasing 6 acres of land to grow corn/maize. The yield from these crops will assist in providing food to the children attending Nanze's Nursery School.
